What's the best way to store pet food?

Owning a pet food store has a lot of responsibilities. One of those responsibilities is sharing with you the best way to store your dry pet food. Lots of people will get their fresh bag of food and dump it into a plastic bin, BUT wait, this may not be the best thing to do. If you were to take your bag of crackers out of its original bag and store them in a plastic container what happens after about a week? The crackers become stale. Well, just as your crackers become stale, so can your pets' food. The next thing I would caution you about is the container itself. Do you have a container made for pet food, or is it just a container you picked up at your local big box store? Does it have harmful plastics in it that could leach into your pet's food?

So, what's the answer to all these questions?

1) keep your pet food in its' original bag

2) buy fresh food and no longer than a month's supply

3) store the food in only FDA approved containers for food

4) know how fresh your food is when you buy it.

Furry Friends Inc. buys fresh food every month of its Pet's Healthy Choice foods assuring you that the food is fresh, fresh, fresh!  Don't feed your pet stale food and if they ever give you that "look" maybe it's time to review your storage process and/or change up the flavor for your pet. Let's not be boring! You certainly would not want to eat the same thing your entire life! Add some blueberries, broccoli, carrots, chia seed in coconut oil to your dog's diet and watch that other "look".  You know the one-with a smile!

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to help!
